Director and Principal WH&S Consultant at Hawkeye Safety Solutions Pty Ltd Robert van Grootel started Hawkeye Safety Solutions in December 2021. Prior to starting Hawkeye Safety Solutions Pty Ltd Robert spent nearly 10 years as the Group Work Health and Safety Manager at WA’s largest home builder BGC Housing Group where he was part of the senior leadership team.
Prior to working for BGC Housing Group Robert was the Director and Principal OSH Consultant at Eagle Eye Safety Services Pty Ltd, a company he started in 2005. Previously Robert spent two years at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA (CCI) as an OSH Consultant. Prior to his position at the CCI, Robert held the position of Safety Advisor for the Master Builders Association of Western Australia for five years. Robert has been involved in the building and construction industry since 1986.
His career commenced as a Licenced Scaffolder and Rigger with the WA Government working on large commercial construction projects. In addition, Robert has also gained a wealth of experience in OSH Advisor Roles for companies in the manufacturing, health and construction industries. Robert has a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Certificate Four in Workplace Training and Assessment and specific qualifications and expertise in areas including Safety management systems, hazardous substances, supplier/contractor management, working at heights, rigging and scaffolding.
